Cooks! residency

Mise en Place Cooks! is a month-long residency and restaurant pop-up on the shores of Lac Leman in Switzerland. Based between La Becque Artist’s Residency and Deli Social, the program offers a unique test-bed for experimental dining.

Aimed at culinary teams with their own innovative agendas, one select group will be tasked with developing and testing their vision for a new collective dining experience. To achieve their ambition, they will be provided with residential space, a grant for travel and living expenses, plus a budget and two spaces in which to produce a public pop-up restaurant. 

With a calendar of public events at the La Becque artists’ residency and 11 services at Deli Social, this is a distinct opportunity for a culinary team to experiment, push boundaries and realize their vision for tomorrow’s table.

  • Mise en Place supports the selected residents in setting-up a temporary restaurant model. During the residency they will host a 3 day pop-up restaurant plus an outdoor dining-event in La Becque’s gardens. Supported with a stipend, residential space and the local expertise of the Mise en Place team, residents have a unique opportunity to experiment, play and create.

  • Cooks! is intended for professional or semi-professional chefs and cooks who have a strong vision, clear goals, and can show that they can run their own experimental kitchen expertly. The project team, chosen by our jury, will have prior experience working in an innovative kitchen and will communicate a clear political, technical, social and cultural agenda.
